Ståhl Collection is a private initiative where art collector Mikael Ståhl presents his extraordinary collection of contemporary art, which he has collected since the early 1980s. Totalling some 400 works, the collection consists mainly of paintings and sculptures from the late 1950s to today.
Artists represented in the collection include renowned Swedish names such as Lena Cronqvist, Cajsa von Zeipel, Nathalie Djurberg and Jarl Ingvarsson, as well as prominent internationals such as Louise Bourgeois, Georg Baselitz, Tracey Emin, Erwin Wurm, Yayoi Kusama and Ai WeiWei, to mention just a few. One of the foremost collections in Scandinavia, Ståhl Collection has already aroused interest far outside Norrköping’s city limits.
The first exhibition will feature some 150 artworks from the collection, in 12 different rooms. Many of these are very large and heavy pieces, which will remain, to form a permanent part of the exhibition. Others will be removed later in the year, to make way for other exciting works and temporary exhibitions.
The Ståhl Collection will be shown in Yllefabriken (the Wool Factory), an impressive historic building in central Norrköping. The space’s raw, industrial feel and light, airy interiors enhance the experience of the art. The art gallery is located on the two bottom storys, with a floor area of approximately 1,900 square metres.

Ståhl Collection är ett privat initiativ där konstsamlaren Mikael Ståhl visar upp sin omfattande samling av samtida konst. Samlingen består till stor del av måleri och skulptur av konstnärskap från slutet av 1950-talet fram till idag.
I samlingen samsas svenska stjärnor som Lena Cronqvist, Cajsa von Zeipel, Nathalie Djurberg och Jarl Ingvarsson med framstående internationella konstnärer som Louise Bourgeois, Georg Baselitz, Tracey Emin, Erwin Wurm, Yayoi Kusama och Ai WeiWei, för att nämna några. Samlingen är en av de främsta privata i Norden och har redan väckt stort intresse långt utanför stadens gränser.
Ståhl Collection visas i Yllefabriken, en gammal pampig fabriksbyggnad mitt i Norrköping, som med sin råa industrikänsla och invändiga rymd ger en extra dimension till upplevelsen. Konsthallen är belägen på de två nedersta våningsplanen med en yta om cirka 1900 kvm.
