Det var 50-tal och simavslutning i den nästan nya Sporthallen. Alla deltagare i kursen som innehöll både torrsim och simning i bassäng, skulle nu få visa upp sina kunskaper. Den yngsta gruppen, som min bror tillhörde, skulle simma 8 meter tvärs över bassängen. Min bror klarade sig också även om han mest simmade med en fot i botten.

All participants in the class, which included both dry swimming and swimming in the pool, would now be able to show off their skills. The youngest group, that my brother belonged to, would swim 8 meters across the pool. My brother also managed although he mostly swam with one foot on the bottom.
